Public Service Announcement Posters

The above poster is intended for display inside airports, train stations, bus stations and other travel locations. The tag-line addresses the problem of bed bugs becoming more frequent and prone to spreading. The message is clear: don't let bed bugs travel home with you. The poster gives tips on how to avoid bed bugs when traveling. It could expand into an entire ad campaign where a giant bed bug is riding on a car, bus, train, etc.

This poster is intended for parents of young children. With childhood obesity on the rise, it's call to action is for parents to realize that it is their responsibility for their child's health and to take an active role in their well-being. Other ideas could expand to include the choice between junk food or a healthy snack (a donut or broccoli), video games or outside play, etc. Perhaps, it could show a progression of poor choices, later as a teenager and then an adult.

Self Promotional Ads

These ads are intended to sell myself to the company I interned with over the summer: Toolbox No. 9. Please check out some of the amazing work that they do at toolbox9.com. The concept with these promotional pieces was a lighthearted look at my "other skills" as a designer.

Early on, I was given kitchen duty for a week (no, they do not give menial tasks to interns just to be cruel. Kitchen duty rotates through the staff.) I must say that I thoroughly impressed them with my kitchen cleaning ability, so much so, that there was an ongoing joke that no one else would be able to measure up to it. Fortunately, they were happy with my design work as well. Hence, the bottle of cleaner that, "Powers through even the toughest web comps, banner ads, flash animations, splash graphics, and more!"

The Boston Terrier above is Thermos, the company security dog, who protects us from the UPS guy. Thermos loves to play fetch with her blue bone, and it so happens that I am also an excellent dog toy thrower. The background type is Thermos' stream of conscience in which she desperately misses me not being around to play fetch.

Advertising Inspirations

Smoke and mirrors. And glass cleaner.

Simple. Clever.
I'm not quite sure if this is real or photoshopped in, but it's a cool idea.
Wow. What a powerful statement.
And a great example of the whole "guilt" angle we discussed in class.
I love how the image makes the statement.
I don't think it needs the copy, "Sharper than you think."
